G7TH Newport 12-String Capo Silver

12 string guitars are notoriously difficult to capo. The standard approach for capo makers has been to apply masses of tension, which inevitably pulls the bass strings sharp. Now, G7th can bring you a solution that doesn't simply rely on brute force - this is our Compensated String Pad, available on the Newport and Heritage capo models.

The Compensated String Pad

Like a compensated saddle on an acoustic guitar, the patented Compensated String Pad takes into account the different gauges between the bass and octave strings, compensating for them with the ridges in the rubber over the fingerboard.

This means all 12 strings are fretted at the SAME TIME and under the SAME TENSION, so you won't pull any out of tune!

Lightweight and Low Profile Newport Capo

The G7th Newport 12 String capo is specifically designed for 12 string acoustic and electric* guitars and combines a flip-lever action, a low-profile shape that doesn't get in the way of your fretting hand and our patented Compensated String PadTM.

The Compensated String PadTM allows all 12 strings to fret at the same time and under the same tension, dramatically reducing tuning problems whilst fretting all 12 strings securely and accurately.

*Not suitable for Rickenbacker 12 string guitars due to the reversed octave string positions.

Quick-release
Improving on existing quick release designs, the Newport flip lever allows you to attach and remove the capo easily and to adjust the tension while in place on the guitar neck.

Compensated String PadTM
